(Martha’s Vineyard) Louisa Gould Gallery is pleased to announce a group holiday exhibit, “ Small Treasures ,” featuring the work of eleven gallery artists as well as work by six guest artists. The works included in the exhibit are a collection of small, well priced treasures of art to be shared with friends, family, co-workers, clients and fine art collectors! The exhibit opens on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 and runs through January 1, 2012. The opening reception will take place on Friday, November 25 th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm (the day after Thanksgiving). Please join us for wine & cheese, cranberry punch and holiday treats and to meet some of the artists.

This holiday exhibition reflects much loved images of the Vineyard as well as scenes from as far as India and Bali. All works are relatively small in size, affordable, cherished treasures and wonderful gifts for others or oneself. “ Small Treasures ,” features the work of gallery artists including delightful still life paintings by Donna Blackburn, charming still lifes of fruit and vegetables by Maya Farber, playful animal images by Kathryn Wronski, lush landscapes by Laura Roberts, thickly painted sailing scenes by Frauke Klatt, and carefree paintings of Catboats by Paul Beebe. Both John Holladay and Jeanne Campbell share selected works that capture their favorite places on the Island. The show also includes several watercolors of the ocean and fishing by Anthony Benton Gude, naïve prints of animals and trees by Doug Kent, and Louisa Gould is showing some of her incredible photographs from her travels to India and Bali for the first time.

The gallery welcomes several new artists for this holiday exhibition. The show includes photographs of Island sights by Nancy Gardner, small, bright canvases by Donna Straw, prints of graphite drawings of boats and animals by Carol Rowan, and maritime photographs by Tom May. For three dimensional works, the show includes a variety of blown glass by Tom Kelly of Vitrix and stoneware vessels by Suzanne Hill.
